V.A. - A Taste of our Rock Hard Lyx - Vol. 1
Rolling RocHaus

Genre: Power / US Metal / Rock'n'Roll / Alternative / Crossover

METAL TO INFINITY

First of all a big hello and thanks to James II from The League Of Rockers who makes this compilation possible to release. James is a die-hard music fanatic and with this album, some kind of a dream is coming through. James always wanted to produce his own compilations and finally he did it. This is the product of what he deserves after many years of hard working, making contact with bands and people who are interested in Hard Rock and Metal music. If you're in a band or if you're heavy music minded, please hit the League Of Rockers banner above and read some more about James. I'm sure you want regret and maybe he can show you the way to realize some of your dreams. Just hit the banner, OK! All of the bands featuring the "A Taste Of Our Rock Hard Lyx Vol.1" are under the wings of James himself. It's a diverse compilation which represents music ranges from US Power / Thrash or True Metal to Alternative, Instrumental and even Hardcore music. The CD starts with a band called Elvenpath from Frankfurt, Germany nd brings us a real demonstration of Classic Heavy Metal with great vocals, driving percusion and awesome guitar works. Two songs on the compilation are "Kingdom Of The Weird" and" Winterland" especially for true Metal maniacs who can go visit the band's website at: www.elvenpath.com.  Next in line is UK's band Whoremoan and sounds in the vein of bands such as Sin City Six, V8 Wankers or Nashville Pussy. Hard hitting Rockin' and Rollin' music with raw vocals ready to kick your ass. With both tracks "Hit and Run" and "Holes In The Ground" it's party time and having fun with the brothers. Check them out at: www.whoremoan.co.uk. Fifth track "Self-Inflicted is from an Australian band called Faceless. They bring us some heavy stuff, not pure Metal minded and a bit similar with the guys from Biohazard, you know what i mean. Band from down under and a must for all those who likes the Alternative / Hardcore or Nu Metal scene. Their website: www.faceless.com.au. Next two bands in line are both faves of mine for sure. Let's start with the first named Catch 22 from Marietta, Ohio. These guys hit you right in the face with a great form of pure US Power / Thrash Metal and has a lot of talent aboard. Their debut album "Awaken" awaits you for sure if you're into Aggressive but very talented Metal music. Original vocals surrounded by damn great musical skilled musicians, i would like to call it "fantastic". "Face Your Fate" is just one single song from an album highly recommended to all Metal maniacs with an eye for melody, aggression and overloaded power. Catch 22 website: www.catch22metal.com. I had an interview with the guys several months ago so check out the Metal To Infinity Interviews section! Other personal fave is the band Unit 53 from Richmond,Virgina. US Heavy Metal at its best, that's what it is. Maybe not so familiar for many of yours outhere, but these guys are truly great, believe me!! Givet hese brothers of Metal the necessary support and exposure...spread their words cause they really deserves it. Clean vocals, pounding drums, flameable guitarworks and thunderous bass parts...great band anyway!! Check them out at: www.unit53band.com. Last band is Broken Temple from Redmond, Washington with an instrumental song called "Rock The Funeral". The mixture of violin parts and the using of slow, heavy guitars gives me a strange feeling inside. Something real sad and reminds me to My Dying Bride with alternative influences. Broken Temple website : www.brokentemple.com .  This isthe first part of a collection chosen by James from The Rolling Rockhäuse andthe good news is he's already busy with "A Taste Of Our Rock Hard Lyx Vol.2" which will be more aggressive and harder played by some other bands. Awaiting that second part, please purchase the first edition and you won't regret. James is also in progress of releasing his own debut educational DVD called"A Pair Of Rock Hard Balls" in 2005. Great and impressive works from an American with a heart for hard music. Don't forget to click on the League Of Rockers banner above of this page for all the necessary details about James and The Rolling Rockhäuse!   MY POINTS: 84 / 100

Picked this up, and noticed right away I was in for something cool. Just the cover had my horemones going. I’ll give it to the cover designer, this one will be passed around the boy’s locker room for sure.

This is one of the better compilations of hard rock I have heard in some time. I think what made me keep listening, was just the fact that they have compiled all these bands from different parts of the world, and one thing is for sure, they all ROCK!

The cd starts out with Elenpath from Frankfurt, Germany cranking out a powerful harder than hard rock. The singer has a set of pipes that won’t stop. I particularly like the hammering guitars mixed with the moog keys that bring an almost ominous feel to there music

Next on the bill is Whoremoan from Canvey Island, UK. Theses guys have a wonderful almost punk sound. I’m a kid of the early 80’s, and I love this stuff! Just plain gut wrenching power rock the way it should be.

Then on we go to Faceless from Australia. What can I say guys? Very well done! These rockers are on a more metal side of the cd. I really like the electronic experimentation in the vocals, and found them very well produced. I have to give kudos’ to the singer, this fucker can scream!

Then from Marietta, Ohio we have Catch 22. The first thing that caught my attention with these hard/metal rockers, was again the incredible vocals, and a better than normal bass player. I’m not sure where they found these guys, but I would love to see them live.

Brother From Another Planet had more of an alternative/Christian rock feel. I especially like the hammering drum work, and clean clear recording style. This band has a nice smooth feel, but can still grab you in the pit of your stomach at times, and remind you that you are still listening to rock n roll.

Unit-53 is a band from Richmond, VA. That has a burning hard rock sound that just keeps your head bangin the whole time you listen to them. They have all the bases cover from speed drumming to a powerful blazing singer. They get an A for effort.

Last but not least we have Broken Temple from Redmond, VA. A nice closer for the cd, these guys are an all instrumental band, that have some obvious background in classical, and jazz,, and mix it all together in a cool as hell little tune complete with rocking guitars, and electric violin. I like this one a lot.

All in all a pretty cool trip around the world. I highly recommend picking it up

(THANX Joe Prophet & CRAVE MAGAZINE.  Subtle grammatical and info errors aside it is VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  I do not know nor have I ever met, talked to or even knowingly bumped into anyone from Infinity Records, the Label which Produce "A Taste of Our Rock Hard Lyx - Vol. I™" IS "The Rolling RocHaüs™", a Sole Proprietorship which I personally own.)

"A TASTE OF OUR ROCK HARD LYX- Vol. I"\ 2004-Infinity/The Rolling RocHaus\ Reviewer:  Edwin Robert

There comes a time in someone's life where you must make your dreams, no matter what it is, come true.  Sometimes that dream can be something a simple as a trip somewhere, or in this case publish your own music.  For many a band across this world of ours, it is their dream to be published to the masses, but they always end up in the same rut...publication and recognition.  Enter into the fold another dreamer who has single-handedly made this dream and others dreams come true...James Cummins-II of The Rolling RocHaus.

This compilation of bands that he has put together is a culmination of many many long and winding months of mailing, emailing and phone calling to find some of the best unsigned bands that he could find.  "A Taste of Our Rock Hard Lyx-Vol. 1" is the result of this dream come true.  Culling bands from the far reaches of this world, he brings to us fantastic bands from such countries as Australia, Germany, The United Kingdom and of course The United States of America ranging from powermetal to alternative rock to Nu-Metal.  This is not a compilation to take lightly since it is dedicated to our long fighting troops in the Middle East or as James so eloquently put it: "A special thanx to our troops for making & keeping us the home of the free because of the brave!"

The CD starts off with 2 songs from Frankfurt, Germany's ELVENPATH. "Kingdom of the Weird" and "Winterland" are great examples of german powermetal complete with symphonic keyboards and dueling guitars.  "Kingdom of the Weird" opens with a great driving rhythm (ala-Iron Maiden) that goes through to end with a killer choral ending.  I see why James picked this song as the opener. "Winterland" is a slower ballad that by 4:00 mins the song will make you pound your head in.  Fast furious and the riffing is tight with a pounding rhythm section.  These guys are right up there with the likes of HELLOWEEN and GAMMA RAY!

Next up is the United Kindom's WHOREMOAN based out of Canvey Island.  Now I have always been a huge of fan of the old NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL movement of the late 70's and early 80's.  Bands such as IRON MAIDEN, DEF LEPPARD, ANGELWITCH, VENOM, SLEDGEHAMMER and many more came from this genre and WHOREMOAN has many of the sound qualities that take me back to that great time. When I hear the driving tunes of "Hit & Run" and "Holes in the Ground", the sound these guys pull off takes me back to the old NWOBHM days.  A HUGE plus in my book!  They have the kind of songs you just want to throw into your CD player, crank up and take the top off the old jallopy and just cruise for hours with.\par      Queensland, Australia's FACELESS is a strange mix in the compilation, but then again, without it...no interest.  If you are into LIMPBISKIT, DISTURBED, KID ROCK and the like, FACELESS is the band for you!  Hard driving with their song, "Self Inflicted" this band sets itself up as a damn great example of the Nu-Metal movement.  An excellent blend of heavy metal, rap-core and melodic rock, "Self Inflicted" will shake the walls if cranked to 11 on your volume dial!

Are you into powermetal?  Do you like groups like HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY or IRON MAIDEN?  Maybe even medieval metal like DIO???  Then stand up and be counted with Marietta, Ohios's CATCH-22!  When I heard their song, "Face Your Fate" I was blown away by the vocals and guitars.  This is DIO-meets-HELLOWEEN-meets-IRON MAIDEN for sure!  I especially liked the ending because it reminded me of HELLOWEEN's "Eagle Fly Free".  The vocalist is amazing in his neo-DIO style.  The dueling guitars will for sure carry you away to another land.

Shaking out of San Diego, California is BROTHERS FROM ANOTHER PLANET. Alternative rock with soul as I see it.  They remind me of the vocal style of LIVING COLOUR but with the musical surrounding of KINGS-X.  Two songs they offer are "Zero Dark" and "Disconnected".  Very tight, very professional and very serious in what they do and their music shows it.

Next to the fold is our hometown boys from Richmond, Virginia, UNIT 53! "Sands of Time" from their full length CD, "Power & Presence" is a fantastic example of good old fashioned U.S.-powermetal!  The vocals are clear, the guitar work is driving and most of all these guys "kicks and sticks" as James put it in the CD linear notes.  They are very reminisent of old QUEENSRYCHE to a certain degree.  If you get a chance, check these guys out!

Last but not least...from Redmond, Washington state comes BROKEN TEMPLE. The song here is "Rock the Funeral"...a sad but beautiful blend of jazz and rock put together in an instrumental format that makes a perfect closer for the CD. I hate to say it, but that's the best I can put it for these guys.  Well done!

Overall, James II has put his dream together and at the same time brought others their dream to come true.  In addition, this CD is also to go out to our troops in the Middle East (as James puts it).  If you get a chance to catch any of these bands, go see them!  Buy their merchandise and most of all, help SUPPORT OUR LOCAL MUSIC SCENES!!!

Edwin R.

THANX EVERYONE!!!

With the outstanding help of The Dells of Loomis, WA. in the Beautiful Okanogan Valley along with many others I have been able to distribute 435 CDs towards Our Troops to date.  I definitely have a stash for The Magnificent Bastards still & if I had more cash I'd burn more copies, hence have more for Our Troops too.

So, if you're tired of getting 1-3 "Good Songs" on a CD of 14-15 songs, would like 10 out of 10 Excellent Tunes from a variety Excellent Bands on 1 CD instead, maybe like collecting Rare Issues of Tunes or  want to buy someone a gift who likes such thing then please buy a copy while they last by simply clicking  HERE!

 Seriously,

THANX EVERYONE!!!
